Research

PROBLEM DEFINITION

I started out by defining the problem and asking some basic set of questions, as shown in the picture.

EXTREME USER INTERVIEWS

'Extreme User Interviews' is a method employed to understand user responses and insights at two opposite ends of the usage spectrum.

AFFINITY DIAGRAM

An affinity diagram organizes a large number of ideas into their natural relationships. It is the organized output from a brainstorming session.

I cleaned up and condensed the data we had into an affinity map, categorized the areas into problems pertaining to 5 fields, scheduling, resources, idea selection, ideation and research.

USER PERSONAS

Personas are fictional characters, which are created based upon the research in order to represent the different user types that might use your service, product, site, or brand in a similar way.

Creating personas helps us understand the users' needs, experiences, behaviors and goals.

ANALYSIS

SWOT ANALYSIS
To understand better how the project needs to work, I used the SWOT analysis, which is a tool to highlight internal and external factors that shape the business environment an the role our contribution plays in it.

TARGET GROUP
Named the target group "aspiring designers". It includes design students and design-interested or design-operating freelancers and beginners.

STAKEHOLDER MAP
Mapped out our possible stakeholders to have them help shape your project in its early stages.

Ideation

HOW MIGHT WE

'How Might We' questions are a good way to open up ideation sessions, where we explore ideas that can help us solve design challenges. Framing the design challenge as a 'How Might We' question opens the field for new ideas, and encourages a collaborative approach to solving it.

6-3-5 METHOD

The 6-3-5 brainwriting method can help teams generate up to 108 new ideas in about 30 minutes.

The 6-3-5 brainwriting method is a group-structured brainstorming technique aimed at aiding innovation processes by stimulating creativity. This method helps find solutions to problems in an organised fashion.

MoSCoW prioritization

MoSCoW prioritization is a tool for establishing a hierarchy of priorities during a project. “MoSCoW” is an acronym for must-have, should-have, could-have, and won't-have, each denoting a category of prioritization.
